Vernon’s Tolko Industries is among 27 finalists for the 30th annual B.C. Export Awards.
The long-time North Okanagan mill was selected along with Archipelago Marine Research (Victoria) and Coast Tsimshian Resources (Terrace) in the Natural Resources category.
The awards, a joint initiative between Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters B.C. and the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training, recognize companies and individuals that demonstrate superior innovation and outstanding contributions to the B.C. export industry.
“British Columbia’s export industry demonstrates a diversity of activity that can only be achieved through a combination of innovation, experience and best practices to create new partnerships and deliver quality BC goods to international markets” said Peter Jeffrey, CME B.C. vice-president.
The awards celebrate industry excellence in eight other sector awards – Advancing Technology Innovation, Consumer Products, Sustainability, Manufactured Products, Digital Media & Entertainment, Professional Services, New Exporter and the Premier’s Award for Job Creation – and three individual awards, including the Leadership Award, International Business Studies Award and the Exporter of the Year Award.
Nearly 400 nominations were received.
