Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce executive director Lynn Whitehouse is the latest recipient of the Tourism Langley lifetime excellence award.
She was given the award at the March 19 chamber meeting by Tourism Langley executive director Deborah Kulchiski.
She is the fourth recipient of the award, given out each year. Earlier recipients were Jane Tidball, Toots Tucker and John Aldag. Whitehouse shepherded tourism efforts through the chamber for many years until Tourism Langley was established.
“I’m totally surprised by this,” said Whitehouse.
“Tourism Langley is a baby of the chamber of commerce. I’m impressed with the way they have taken it and run with it in positive ways, in ways the chamber couldn’t do.”
Chamber president Angie Quaale is the new chair of the Tourism Langley board.
