Tourism Pro-D Days

Tourism Vancouver Island's fifth annual Tourism Pro-D Days will be held March 25 at the Westerly.

Tourism Vancouver Island’s fifth annual Tourism Pro-D Days will be held on Wednesday, March 25 at the Westerly Hotel in the Courtenay Banquet Room.

Workshops will focus on improving the impact of online communications by becoming a better digital storyteller. Sessions will also look at the value of collaboration amongst industry stakeholders in the Vancouver Island region, and recruitment and retention plans for the 2015 season.

Speakers include digital storyteller Jordan Bower, TVI president/CEO Dave Petryk and go2HR CEO Arlene Keis.

This year includes a networking roundtable session that will explore topics such as the emerging market of China with Maria Greene of Desti- nation BC. Jameel Sayani, a partner on MNP’s Aboriginal Services team, will also attend.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Cost to attend is $79, which includes lunch.

After Pro-D Days, North Island College tour- ism students, in partnership with Comox Valley Economic Development and Tourism, hosts a Collaborate to Compete Reception at 3:30 p.m., also at the Westerly. Speakers include Destination BC president/CEO Marsha Walden and Nancy Arsenault of Tourism Café Canada.
