Trio of new child care centres opening in Surrey in 2015

Kids & Company partners with businesses to create child care options for employees.

The opening of three new centres from one of Canada’s leading child care companies will add 237 additional spots for Surrey families and businesses starting this month.

Kids & Company, a corporate-sponsored child care company, partners with businesses to offer progressive child care options that help address employee work-life integration and productivity challenges.

Its first Surrey location – Surrey Professional Centre – is situated in a new medical office building directly across from Surrey Memorial Hospital’s main entrance on 96 Avenue in the heart of the city’s growing core. The centre held its grand opening ceremony on May 13.

The second Surrey child care centre will be located at Morgan Crossing. Opening this summer, this centre in South Surrey will be an attractive option for young families who have flocked to the emerging community. The third location opens this fall near the city’s core at King George Boulevard.

“As the fastest-growing city in Metro Vancouver, there was significant demand from businesses and families who knew about our high-quality care and educational programs at other locations in British Columbia,” said Victoria Sopik, CEO of Kids & Company and mother of eight. “With the three locations, we wanted to ensure we made these centres as accessible and convenient as possible for families who are already juggling many things on any given day to make life a little easier for the working parent.”

Kids & Company provides an innovative model of child care for newborns up until the age of 12. That includes guaranteed placement for families of corporate partners within six months, as well as flexible, part-time, full-time care and back-up care. There are secure web cams for parents to check in and educational programs such as Alpha-Mania (pre-literacy and reading), Mini Masters (artistic expression) and Munchkinetics (physical activity and movement).

Meals from the Kidco Kitchen are made fresh from scratch and are free of chemicals, additives and preservatives. Diverse menus are also developed to expand their food choices and eating habits.

Kids & Company operates nearly 70 centres across Canada and in the U.S., including nine others in B.C.

Kids & Company, a Canadian company, works directly with family-oriented corporations to develop progressive child care options. By partnering with Kids & Company, top-tier companies from a variety of industry sectors are able to add child care assistance to their suite of employee benefits.
