Vermeer BC, a heavy-duty equipment manufacturer and dealership with nine locations across the province, is on the search for the ultimate horizontal directional drilling crew and selected Coquitlam-based Ulmer Contracting as one of eight finalists in North America.
Vermeer, which has a location in Abbotsford, launched the Ultimate Operator contest to celebrate horizontal directional drill (HDD) operators, and to recognize their impact on the world while simultaneously identifying the ultimate HDD operator in North America.
“Ulmer Contracting was selected as the only Canadian Ultimate Crew and we are very happy to support them,” stated Don Castron, a long-time Abbotsford resident and director of Vermeer BC.
“Chuck Ulmer is a passionate leader who appreciates great customer service, teamwork, quality equipment and safety.”
The top crews — selected via online voting — will advance to compete in the ultimate HDD skills competition from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 at the International Construction & Utility Equipment Exposition (ICUEE) 2015 in Louisville, Kentucky.
The crew that demonstrates their superior drill skills, strength and endurance at ICUEE will be named North America’s Ultimate Crew.
The winners will get to use the new Vermeer D24x40 Series II for twelve months, be featured in ad materials in key underground publications and have the chance to test future Vermeer innovations and products, all the while sharing their experiences along the way.
Voting is available at navigatornation.com until Aug. 31.
