Since the people running the repair shop in town retired, people in Golden have had to leave town to get maintenance and service done on their vacuums.
“A lot of people in Golden have been contacting us for service,” said Glenda Lindsay, co-owner of Fine Homeservices Vacuum Centre based out of Windermere.
“There’s no one else, for vacuum repairs and service, in this end of the valley.”
Fine Homeservices Vacuum Centre, a warranty and repair centre for most major brands including Sears, has decided to expand, using Sears in Golden as a depot, to reach customers in the Golden area.
“We’ve been thinking about it (expanding to Golden) for maybe a year now,” said Lindsay, who has been offering Vacuflo central vacuum installations and sales for 18 years, for the last 3 years have offered sales, repair and warranty for any type of vacuum. “People were really pursuing us, asking for these services.”
The depot at Sears has been open for about a month now. Customers can drop off their vacuum cleaner, and it will be transported to Windermere for repair. And the turnaround has been five days to a week, depending on parts supply says Lindsay. The store also offers accessories such as bags, belts and filters.
Fine Homeservices offers in home service calls on built in vacuum systems, which includes cleaning the pipes (removing blockages) cleaning and servicing the built in vacuum. In the month that the depot has been operating, Lindsay is very happy with the reception.
“It’s been pretty good, especially for the little advertising we’ve been doing,” she said.
