Armstrong’s Village Cheese is a finalist at the eighth annual Canadian Cheese Grand Prix in Montreal.
Village Cheese’s Smokehouse Cheddar was recognized in the Flavoured Cheese with added non-particulate flavourings category.
The contest received a record number of entries, with 225 cheeses in 19 categories submitted.
A panel of top Canadian food industry experts will determine the winners.
The Grand Prix is hosted every two years by Dairy Farmers of Canada.
“Canadian cheese makers from coast-to-coast are producing top quality, impressive cheeses,” said Phil Bélanger, jury chairman.
Category champions and the grand champion will be unveiled at a gala event at Montreal’s Hyatt Regency Hotel on April 18.
