Village Cheese’s Smokehouse Cheddar was recognized in the Flavoured Cheese with added non-particulate flavourings category.

The contest received a record number of entries, with 225 cheeses in 19 categories submitted.

A panel of top Canadian food industry experts will determine the winners.

The Grand Prix is hosted every two years by Dairy Farmers of Canada.

“Canadian cheese makers from coast-to-coast are producing top quality, impressive cheeses,” said Phil Bélanger, jury chairman.

Category champions and the grand champion will be unveiled at a gala event at Montreal’s Hyatt Regency Hotel on April 18.
