The newspaper group’s first wedding magazine issue is hot off the presses and hitting the hands of brides-to-be and wedding lovers around the West Kootenay.

“We are thrilled with the look of the first wedding magazine,” said Nelson Star publisher Karen Bennett.

Black Press was inspired to launch a magazine division in the region after seeing the success of a similar endeavour in the East Kootenay.

“They have been printing beautiful glossy magazines for a number of years, including an annual wedding magazine,” said Bennett.

On the west side of the Kootenay, each Black Press publication has typically done an annual wedding section. “We have done one in Nelson for a number of years.” But going broader allows more regional feel.

“One story in particular in the magazine highlights that couples are using wedding services from several West Kootenay communities,” said Bennett.

West Kootenay Bride is a full-colour glossy-paged celebration of the wedding. Covering everything from the all important dress and hair to a chic take on the wedding cake to hearing personal wedding stories, the publication is illustrated with stunning photography, another staple of any special occasion.

“We have included a very extensive directory of wedding services in the magazine, everyone from florals to venues, so it is definitely a great resource for couples planning to get married,” said Bennett. “And it is always fun to get ideas from some of the amazing photos inside.”

West Kootenay Bride is now available at coffee shops, hotels, restaurants and businesses from Grand Forks to Kaslo and everywhere in between.
