Willowbrook’s charity shopping night returns to Langley

An event at Langley's largest indoor mall on Tuesday will help people get a jump on their Christmas gift shopping and help charities.

Merchants in Willowbrook Shopping Centre are already getting into the spirit of Christmas with the return of the popular charity shopping night.

For three hours on Tuesday, Nov. 15, the mall becomes an exclusive ticket-only shopping event that is expected to attract about 5,000 people and raised more than $50,000 for partnering charities, explained marketing director Meghan McCrea.

“This annual exclusive ticketed shopping event will allow attendees to enjoy an elevated holiday shopping experience, help local charitable organizations, and take advantage of exclusive savings at the same time,” McCrea said.

Those who pay the $10 admission fee (in advance, $15 on event night) are given access to the mall from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. to shop and take advantage of exclusive savings, free Santa photos, gifts with purchase offers, live entertainment, and more than $26,000 in prizes.

Details and tickets are available online at shopwillowbrook.com.

One hundred percent of the event ticket sale proceeds will go to participating charities, McCrea noted.

Event partner charities are:  Autism Speaks Canada, Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Diabetes Association, Child Development Foundation of BC, Coast to Coast Against Cancer Foundation, Fort Langley Lions Club, Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada, Horse Protection Society of BC, Ishtar Transition Housing Society, Langley Association for Community Living, Langley Care Foundation, Langley Child Development Centre, a division of Langley Children’s Society, Langley Christmas Bureau, Langley Community Services Society, Langley Hospice Society, Langley Memorial Hospital Foundation, Langley Senior Resources Society, Lower Mainland Down Syndrome Society, Small Animal Rescue Society of BC, and Special Olympics British Columbia.
