Wings Tap and Grill ready to make debut in Vernon

Wings will be in East Side Mario’s old location in Anderson Village and plans to open towards the end of July.

A new  restaurant is opening in Vernon with plenty of wings, beverages and TVs.

“These are the best wings in North America, period,” said Bobby Naicker , president and founder of Wings Tap and Grill.

The restaurant features 46 wing flavours, eight to 10 different beers on tap and 14 to 20 TVs.

“We wanted to bring something new to Vernon. This is a spot you can bring your family and friends and have a good time,” said Katie Bellamy, Vernon Wings’ owner

Wings will be in East Side Mario’s old location in Anderson Village and plans to open towards the end of July.

“We are more than just a wing place. We offer a full menu; everything from racks of ribs, rice bowls to steaks,” said Bellamy.

Wings recently opened a new location in Kelowna to go with its 11 locations in the Lower Mainland.

“We saw this as a golden opportunity to expand our chain,” said Naicker.

Wings started up eight years ago in Surrey, and is just starting to work its way into the Interior thanks to the success it has received.

Naicker says that it’s the wings that separate their restaurants from other pubs.

Their wings are delivered fresh daily from B.C. farms and are flavoured and baked in house.

Any true wing aficionado needs to check the Bobby Wing off their bucket list.

“Very rarely have I seen anyone eat more than two or three. It’s a fun and quite the challenge. People come in from all over to try the wing,” said Naicker.

The restaurant has several micro-breweries available along with five taps featuring Okanagan Springs to go with a variety of wines.
