An exciting and thrilling brand new season with the Vancouver Island Symphony embarks upon their 19th year with a musical world tour. Their Passport to Great Entertainment promises to take people on an incredible journey of discovery to some of the most beautiful locations on Earth.
It begins with a full day of fun-filled activities for the whole family on Saturday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Nanaimo Airport . There will be music, played by musicians from the VI Symphony; draws every 15 minutes for tickets to concerts, and more.
Join Aunti Bobbi the Clown from 12:30 to 2 p.m. for a creative experience making musical instruments and airplanes from recycled materials. Enjoy ice cream at 1:30 p.m. and from 11:30 to 1 people can meet artistic director Pierre Simard.
Find out about the Symphonic Choir (ages 16+) and the Grade 5 Honour Choir (open to any Grade 5 student in School Districts 68 and 69).
