39 Days of July brings performers to the park in Duncan

Wednesday night shows in City Square

An ease in provincial COVID-19 regulations meant the 39 Days of July music festival was able to bring the music outdoors on July 1.

“So it would appear we will back in the park come Thursday, July 1,” wrote Longevity John Falkner on the festival’s Facebook page.

Following the weekend Falkner said it was like old times being outdoors again.

“Like magic,” he said. “Like it had always been. So many smiles and good feelings be had. Great turnouts. Musicians having a fantastic time being able to do what they do best: entertain,” said Falkner.

He noted that the 8:30 p.m. concerts that organizers were not sure would be in the park will now be in Duncan City Square.

The City Square acts are none other than Diana Braithwaite and Chris Whiteley with Jack Lavin on July 9, Stephen Fearing on July 14, Leeroy Stagger on July 21, Beautiful Maladies on July 23, David Essig on July 28, Ollie Happiness on July 29, and TNT July 31.

“The punk/hip hop and loud rock will be broadcast from the Showroom,” added Falkner, “but we will have speakers out front of the Showroom for those who want to dance for these shows.”
