The Vernon Rotary Club is working on the 64th year of its most beloved Christmas tradition and kick-off to the holiday season.

The Rotary Christmas Carol Festival returns to the Vernon Performing Arts Centre Dec. 3 and 4.

“Since 1952, the annual carol festival has provided a performance venue for many local community choirs, musicians and vocal ensembles to perform,” said Rotary spokesperson Pam Owen. “This year there will be three live concerts of seasonal songs and Christmas carols.”

Special musical guest is local musical theatre actor and singer with The Legendary Lake Monsters, Anita Baturin.

She will be accompanied by Brian McMahon on bass, Jim Leonard on piano, and Greg Baturin on drums.

Two concerts take place Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2 and 7 p.m., and one on Sunday, Dec.  4 at 2 p.m. Admission is by donation, with proceeds going to Vernon Rotary’s annual Seniors Spring Breakout dinner.
