A Jazz Christmas in the Fort Nov. 16

Jazz/latin band performs as well as live auction with the event benefiting the Langley Christmas Bureau.

Kick off the holiday season with the sweet sounds of a hot six-piece jazz/latin band playing in support of the Langley Christmas Bureau on Nov. 16 at the St. George’s Anglican Church at 7:30 p.m.

A Jazz Christmas in the Fort features well known artists Jack Stafford, the singing sensation Elaine Brewer-White, Tilden Webb, Kim Brandt, Dave Robbins and more. The evening includes an amazing live auction, complimentary sweets courtesy of Wendell’s, singing by Brewer-White and classical guitar by Jason Ratzlaff. If the music moves people there is plenty of room for dancing.

Once again, Fort Chiropractic’s Kim Brandt and Marily Harper from Yoga Therapy are putting this fundraiser together. Proceeds will go to the Christmas Bureau which is in its 40th year.

“It’s going to be an excellent night. The whole theme is fun,” said Brandt. But the auction items this year have been an amazing surprise, he said. Donors from all over the Fort have generously got on board.

Original art from Suzanne Northcott, Elaine Brewer-White, Judy Nygren and more are up for auction as is a new bike from Fort Cyclery, an all day river trip for 10 aboard the Heritage Vessel “Advise.”

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for people to get a preview of the auction items.

Tickets are $25 and can be bought at Wendel’s, Euphoria Chocolate, Veggie Bob’s or by calling 604-790-7563.
