With the start of a new year, Kicking Horse Culture will be busy for the next few months with both Film and Live kicks putting on many shows.
The new season starts with the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret on Jan. 21.
Then it will be time for Ski Bum the musical which is showing on Feb. 2 and 3. On Feb. 17 residents will be able to get dressed up for the 6th annual Masque Costume Ball which will come to the Golden Civic Centre on Feb 17.
March 1 will see Nathan Rogers come to town to perform a special tribute to the music of his father, Stan Rogers.
Steven Page will grace the stage at the centre on March 20. Page, the former lead singer for the band Bare Naked Ladies, will tell you that the themes explored in his latest album Page One are those of love, loss, and new beginnings.
Rita Chiarelli, on of Canada’s most highly acclaimed female roots and blues artists, will be in golden for a one night performance on April 5.
Then things will get a little cheesy with a Burlesque show for the ages as the Cheesecake Burlesque Review will be in town on April 21.
Film Kicks they are half way through the six movies for this year but they still have some great ones still to come. Jan. 26 will see the new year kick off with Submarine followed on Feb. 23 with In a Better World. The last show of the season will be Oranges and Sunshine on March 15.
