A night of music and art at Pynelongs

The time is nearing for the seventh annual PyneStock Concert – 2 Hours of Peace and Music, which is being held this year on  July 20 and 21.

The highly-successful annual concert will bring together a dozen local 20-somethings that have gotten together and decided to arrange improvisational, creative, and never-before-heard compositions which will be a fun night out for those in attendance.

“With a smidgen of classical, two scoops of rock, and three giant helpings of who-the-heck-knows what genre, PyneStock is a nine-layer dip of entertainment,” said  Jami Scheffer, Manager, Gallery and Administration of the Pynelogs Cultural Centre

The concert is a tradition that has developed a solid fan base over the years by providing both locals and visitors with an intimate setting and diverse line-up.  Once again the event is linked this year with a five-day weekend which include the concerts, a bull riding event, Valley Appreciation Day and a regatta.

“It is one poster with four events that leads to one big weekend where everyone helps each other out,” Scheffer said.

This year will also see the return of the Innovation art show which will display many unique and different forms of art during the evenings of music.

“It is a really good cross-section of art,” she said.

Tickets will be $12 each and limited to 100 a night. They can be purchased later in June from The Book Bar in Invermere, the Pynelogs Cultural Centre or at the door if there are any left on the evening of the show.
