TWU’s School of the Arts, Media + Culture (SAMC) is presenting the spring installation of the Faculty + Friends Recital Series, A Valentine Recital, featuring romantic gems for violin and piano.
The performance on Sunday, Feb. 21 features Carmen Hollett (piano), who works with SAMC Music, and Calvin Dyck (violin), concertmaster for the Vancouver Island Symphony.
The sounds of Beethoven’s Romance in F major, Dvoràk’s Four Romantic Pieces and Gabe’s Tango Jalousie, will have audiences dreaming of love.
Music from the movie Ladies in Lavender, and Romeo and Juliet by Prokofiev, will be highlighted along with Ralph Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, which imitates the song of a lark as it circles higher and higher in the sky until it disappears.
The performance takes place at 2:30 p.m. at the Langley Mennonite Fellowship, 20997 40 Ave.
Tickets are $10 for students and seniors, $15 for adults, and $30 for families (two adults and children).
Tickets and more information are available at twu.ca/samc.
