The fashion design program at University of the Fraser Valley hosts its annual Absolute Style show on Wednesday, April 25.
The event, featuring two fashion shows and an open house, highlights the program and its students, while providing them with real-world fashion industry experience.
The runway events feature an array of garments, including swimsuits, tailored jackets, dresses and costume wear.
Surface Design students will showcase items ranging from hand-painted silk gowns to Shibori, a popular Japanese fashion method. The Art-to-Wear students highlight weaving, draping and machine knitting.
The afternoon fashion show is at 2:30 p.m., with doors opening at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10.
The evening show is at 7 p.m., with a wine and cheese event at 6:30. Tickets are $18. Both shows are at UFV Abbotsford’s Envision Athletic Centre, 1385 McKenzie Rd.
An open house highlighting the program and its projects runs from 1 to 5 p.m.
