Listen to a guitar virtuoso in an intimate space this Friday, as award-winning guitarist Eric Harper brings his eclectic sounds to the Acoustic Cafe in Qualicum Beach.
Harper has played throughout Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, China and the United States and his first album, Romper a madrugada, was sung entirely in Portuguese. His second, self-titled solo album, captures a variety of world music sounds including flamenco, rock and Latin.
His new song The Scorpion fuses his old metal roots with his deep love for Flamenco.
Harper graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a degree in film scoring (original music written specifically to accompany a film.) He co-composed the music for the movie Inseparable starring Kevin Spacey, and has previously composed music for the films Waiting Alone and Missing Pieces, among others.
Harper also holds a diploma in classical music from the Professional School of Music of Porto.
Harper is currently based in Naniamo and has been very well received in the area playing at a number of venues, including Milner Gardens and The Deep Bay Marine Field Station. For more on Harper visit www.ericharpermusic.com.
