From the hill to the mill, from the ski to the sled, from the 4×4 to the MTB and everything in between, Lucas Myers will be using his talent for storytelling and character work to celebrate the many facets that make up the world of Revelstoke.
Lucas is making two trips to Revelstoke this winter (January 6–11 and again February 24 to March 4) to research our mountain town life and to meet the people that make this place special. If you see him around town, say hi and tell him a story, take him out on a guided tour of your secret spot or you can head online to the Revelstoke Arts Council website and anonymously fill in The Revelstoke Project survey to add your voice to the conversation.
Since graduating from the National Theatre School in 1998, Myers has performed in many major theatres across Canada, as well as touring internationally to the US, England, France, Switzerland, Mexico, Singapore, Brunei and New Zealand, where he won a Best Comedy Award for his Vaudeville duo, The Amazing and Impermeable Cromoli Brothers.
He has created and performed in many new plays as a member of the Victoria-based independent theatre company TheatreSKAM and studied physical theatre and collaborative creation with The SITI Company in New York and Boca del Lupo Theatre in Vancouver.
In 2007, he returned to Nelson, B.C., to raise a family and form PilotCoPilot Theatre with a mandate to create work that is accessible, thought provoking, and highly theatrical in an effort to attract a new generation of theatre goers.
The Revelstoke Project research trips will culminate in the creation of a brand new theatre work uniquely Revelstoke, to be showcased at the Revelstoke Performing Arts Centre in late November 2016.
