The Shaw Centre will be the place to be for model train enthusiasts on June 18 and 19.
The Pacific Northwest region of the National Model Railroad Association is hosting their regional meet in Salmon Arm.
There will be model railroad displays from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska and across Western Canada. The Pacific Northwest regional meet is an annual event but it is only held in B.C. once every eight years.
Salmon Arm Model Railroad Association president Ed Parsons said that one display coming from Edmonton is approximately three-and-a-half times the size of the Salmon Arm Association’s display in Piccadilly Mall.
The public showing takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 18 and 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Tickets to the show are $10 for adults $8 for seniors and $5 for youth ages six to 15.
Students from kindergarten to Grade 7 throughout the Shuswap were given free tickets to the event.
