Over 130 patrons attended the performance on Feb. 25 at the First Mennonite Church in Burns Lake, by Joelle Rabu and Nico Rhodes. Together, vocalist Rabu with her son Rhodes on piano performed the music of Edith Piaf, as well as music from Broadway shows, pop tunes, and a jazz standard or two. A long-time Lakes District audience member wrote after the show, “The concert last night was one of the arts council’s best in my opinion. Fantastic! I want to mention the personal stuff shared by the mother and son team. What an amazing thing, when an audience experiences such intimacy.”
