If you are a Downton Abby fan, then this afternoon garden tea is just for you! Debbie Graham will be serving high tea in her English country garden, where freshly baked scones worthy of Mrs. Patmore await.

The highly anticipated annual event raises funds for a range of worthy causes, and the proceeds of this year’s tea will go to Friends of Children, a northern B.C. and East Kootenay society that assists families with children who have an extraordinary medical need.

There will be two seatings: the Lady Cora tea at 2 p.m. July 9, and the Crawley sisters’ tea at 2 p.m. July 10, with a silent auction at each.

Watercolour artist Laura Leeder’s Downton Abbey teacup series will be on display (Lady Cora above), as will a rare collection of 1920s ladies clothing and accessories.

Tickets are $15 at the garden gate of Lady Debbie’s Goat River Road South home; reservations are required by calling 250-428-7182. Dressing for the era or wearing a garden hat is encouraged (but not necessary) for a chance of a Downton Abbey tea gift.
