The Comox Valley Camera Club is holding its annual photographic showcase from Sept. 16 to Oct. 1 at the Muir Gallery in Courtenay.
The public is welcome to attend the grand opening, which will take place Sept. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. Light refreshments and beverages, as well as a cash bar, will be available during the event.
You can meet the photographers; learn how they’ve managed to capture their subjects, what tips they may have, and how their photography has evolved over the years.
Showcase will present viewers with over 70 images of wildlife, landscapes, portraits, seascapes, architecture and sports, all photographed by this talented group of local amateur photographers.
Members of the Comox Valley Camera Club will be on hand daily throughout Showcase, prepared to answer your questions about the photographers, the images, the club and photography in general.
Admission is free; however a donation to the Muir Gallery to assist with annual operating costs would be sincerely appreciated.
You are invited to cast your ballot for your favourite image, and the People’s Choice Awards will be announced following the show on the club’s website at www.comoxvalleycameraclub.org.
The Muir Gallery is at 440 Anderton Ave. in Courtenay and is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Visit their website at www.comoxvalleyarts.org/muir_gallery.php.
