Various mediums of art created by artist of all talents will be featured at the Bay Centre downtown Victoria during the annual art exhibit.
The Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria is hosting the Look Show from Feb. 27 to March 21.
“We’re inviting artists of all levels to join us regardless of expertise, emerging or professional,” said Stephanie Eisenbraun, arts coordinator with the Arts Council, adding they currently have over 150 artists registered for the show and are expecting over 200.
The art will cover the walls of the ground floor of the Bay Centre and will include acrylic, oil and watercolour paintings, photography, jewelry, ceramics and fibre art.
The show will run from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
Every Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., and Monday to Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., there will be an artist demonstration.
“People can go in and speak with the artist and learn their practice and techniques,” said Eisenbraun.
There is no theme to the art on display, said Eisenbraun, adding it will be an eclectic variety.
“Everyone is welcome to express themselves in any way possible,” she said. “The goal of the show is just to help promote local art culture and get the community involved in supporting local art.”
There will be a free opening reception at the Bay Centre on Feb. 26 from 6 to 8 p.m.
