Art show returns to Paddlewheel Park

The Okanagan Artists of Canada hosts its second annual Art at Paddlewheel Park exhibition, Sunday at Paddlewheel Hall in Okanagan Landing.

The Okanagan Artists of Canada (OAC) hosts its second annual Art at Paddlewheel Park exhibition.

The one-day only show and sale takes place  Sunday at the historic Paddlewheel Park Hall overlooking Okanagan Lake.

The show features fine art by local artists who are showcasing original paintings in a variety of mediums and subject matter.

In addition to larger pieces and as in last year’s show, the OAC is again offering a selection of smaller paintings priced under $100.

“The Okanagan Landing Community Association has been very active in encouraging the use of Paddlewheel Park Hall as a recreational, cultural, and historical facility,” said Marg Fox, with the Okanagan Artists of Canada. “Last year’s OAC art show was one of its first-ever ventures into the artistic realm.

“The OAC is proud to continue its partnership with the Okanagan Landing Community Association, a partnership that promotes both Paddlewheel Park Hall and the artwork of the OAC.”

A number of OAC artists currently have their work displayed in various business store fronts. Businesses include Discovery Shoes, Interior Gift Gallery, Vernon Shoes, Terra Incognita Imports, Vernon Teach and Learn, Cento Wear, Olive Us, Welk Mart, Hagemann Jewellers, Nadine’s Fine Art and Frames, Betty Lou Boutique, The Starting Block, Faith and Company, Brenda Hala’s Photography, Marlin Travel and Fox & Sons Plumbing and Heating.

Sunday’s showcase of art at the picturesque Paddlewheel Park Hall runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free with refreshments available. To view the work of OAC members, visit www.okanaganartistsofcanada.ca.
