With the addition of a dedicated art workshop space in the Lake Country Art Gallery’s Art House, the gallery has unveiled a slate of four two-day signature workshops.
These are designed to offer participants an in depth art making experience that will fully develop one idea.
The first of the classes is Illustrative Painting with Kelowna-based artist Jolene Mackie, on May 24 and 25. This workshop will focus on combining images and imagination; realism and fantasy to create whimsical works of art with engaging stories. Participants will engage in all aspects of making a new artwork: inspiration and planning, surface preparation, sketches and preparatory drawings, colour palette, as well as Mackie’s tricks and tips for creating life and light in a painting.
