What is the connection among monks, medicaments and mythical creatures, such as unicorns?
To find out, join artist Lynden Beesley on Thursday, September 11, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, for her artist’s talk entitled, Hortus Conclusus: Symbolism and Practicality.
Learn how the symbolism associated with pomegranates ties into her garden installation, Hortus Conclusus, which is currently on view in the Gallery’s outdoor courtyard space. Listen as Beesley unlocks the secrets of her enclosed garden, and immediately following the talk stay for the celebratory event from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. This is a free event, and is open to members and guests by invitation.
Beesley received her BFA in printmaking from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario in 2001. That same year she relocated to Kelowna to pursue her art. She has been active as an artist in the region, exhibiting her prints and sculptures regularly in both solo and group exhibitions.
The Artist’s Garden Project: Lynden Beesley: Hortus Conclusus will be on view at the Kelowna Art until Spring 2015.
