A piece of cardboard from the blue box could become the canvas for rad art this weekend.

The Electric Umbrella in the old city quarter is hosting Recycled Radness Art Show on Saturday (June 29), from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The idea is for artists to use recycled materials to create art on site during the event. The work will be for sale during the evening gallery opening, but people are welcome to observe.

It features numerous artists including Raymond Knight, Lurk, Daniel Bacharach, Bobbi Sue, Phil Brazil, Natalie Schnitter, Sarita Mielke, Eddy Graham, Jeremy Unrau, Ben Frey, Mathew Pierce and more.

ā€œIā€™m trying to get people to buy and get more involved in the art scene,ā€ said Russ Morland, owner of the Electric Umbrella Tattoo and Gallery.

Morland said the idea is to make art more affordable for people, especially youth. Morland will create one of his signature Lurk pieces.

All pieces will be under $50, a portion of the profits will be donated to a local charity. The event also features a performance by Johnny Good and tunes by DJ Dud.
