Artists go off the rails for ArtWalk theme

This year, the Lake Country Art Gallery’s contribution to ArtWalk will go off the rails.

This year, the Lake Country Art Gallery’s contribution to ArtWalk will go off the rails.

Artworks chosen for the annual artistic extravaganza will relate to this year’s ArtWalk theme, Art Off the Rails, described as having a “strong light within a painting, or shining the spotlight on an important issue of our society, or perhaps the artist using actual light.”

Artists are invited to create a work of art for the juried theme exhibition, scheduled to run at the LCAG from Aug. 27 to Sept. 24.

“The Lake Country Art Gallery is a pubic gallery and provides an opportunity for artists to display artwork that may not fit in a more conventional venue. I encourage artists to challenge, expand and interpret this year’s ArtWalk theme,” said  LCAG curator Wanda Lock.

“All artwork will be thoughtfully selected and hung in a way that brings out the best in all of the work.”
