Rollin Centre celebrates arts
In special honour of Port Alberni’s Centennial and Arts in Culture Week April 22-28, the Community Arts Council will host a free Celebrating the Arts Centennial Tea on Saturday, April 28 from 1–3 p.m. The event will pay homage to the important role the arts have played in our community during the past 100 years.
The tea will include a commemorative planting of Port Alberni’s Centennial tree, a Dogwood, in the Rollin Art Centre garden. A children’s “growing the arts” seed planting activity will also be included.
The tea reception will take place afterward in the gallery.
Time passes for Rollin show
Only two weeks remain for the Rollin Art Centre’s art exhibit, a joint show with artists Adina Barugolo and Peter Leclerc titled Time Passages.

Fashion across the decades
The Rollin Art Centre will have a Centennial Fashion Show on Saturday, June 9 with a tea reception following the event in the gallery.
This show is a fundraiser for the art centre to provide funding for children’s art programs.
The fashion show will take place at 1 p.m. outside on the terrace and will be a showcase of costumes that have been designed, created and modelled after those in 1912.
Tickets are $10 each, available at the Rollin Art Centre. Seating is limited.
