Swift show good to go
“Thoughts of Light and Shade”, is the title of the Rollin Art Centre’s art exhibit featuring local photographer, Jim Swift.
This is a great show, very unique in its hanging. With all proceeds from the sale of Jim’s Black & White prints will being donated to Doctors without Borders (MSF).
And all proceeds from the sale of the Pot Luck Impressions prints will be going to Pot Luck Ceramics.
Swift’s exhibit runs until Sept. 17.
Coming show will be Wild
Wild Observations will be the next art exhibit at the Rollin Art Centre.
The show will run from Sept. 19 to Oct. 16.
This exhibit showcases a very unique show of paper collage, by artist Debbie Goodman. The pieces she creates are composed entirely from coloured and patterned specialty paper, which come from many countries of origin.
Goodman is passionate about wildlife and the conservation and animal welfare, as you will see in this wonderful collection.
Capitol glee and wee glee
Children’s and youth drama and choral programs in cooperation with Portal Players Society will be having their registration, Monday, Aug. 27-28 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre, 4904 Argyle St.
Space is limited for weekly classes from September to June plus two shows with rehearsals. No auditions required.

Rollin takes a summer break
The Rollin Art Centre will be closed for its annual summer closure, Aug. 28 and re-open Tuesday September 11 at 11 a.m.
The Rollin Art Centre is located at the corner of Eighth Avenue and Argyle Street. The gallery is wheelchair accessible and admission is by donation.
