Take a brush with nature
Shelley Penner will be the next artist showcasing her paintings of acrylic on canvas with some special pieces you won’t want to miss, at the Rollin Art Centre.
This collection, titled A Brush with Nature, is of nature and especially wildlife, her passion. Penner captures the images like a photograph. A Brush With Nature begins Sept. 16 and runs until Oct. 11. Join the artist in the gallery for refreshments, Saturday, Sept. 20 from 1-3 p.m.
It’s pumpkin time already
The Rollin Art Centre will be having its inaugural Pumpkin Carving Contest on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rollin Art Centre outside terrace. Finished Jack-O-Lanterns will be placed in the gardens. You must register that day for $5 per person in age appropriate categories.
Viewing and voting of your favourite lit Jack-O-Lantern will be Fri. Oct. 31 from 4-7 p.m.
Arts District applications open now
The Arrowsmith Rotary Club is accepting applications for the Arts District Grant program, which provides assistance to individuals, organizations and businesses who are interested in participating in activities that benefit the community specifically through enhancing the Rotary Arts District and achieving its purpose.
In order to be eligible, the participant must have attended the Arts District Grant Program Workshop which will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17at 7:00 pm at Rollin Art Centre. DRAW Gallery hosts show
Sacred Memories with Casey Rae will show at DRAW Gallery Sept 5 thru Sept 27th at DRAW Gallery. Artist’s Meet & Greet Friday Sept 5th from 6 – 8 pm with Mexican food appetizers and traditional face painter.
Sacred Memories is an exhibition of paintings, mixed media and installation. A personal remembrance of those passed and a celebration of life.
