The next art exhibit at the Rollin Art Centre begins Feb. 9 through March 3 and features Ariane Terez, a local painter with a flair for the west coast. Titled Facing West this exhibit captures Terez’s love of the west coast with colour and movement.
Stop by the gallery for refreshments on Saturday, Feb. 11 from 1-3 p.m. to meet Terez and talk about art.
Art AGM
The Community Arts Council’s annual general meeting will take place Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Alberni Valley Museum.
Join us for an evening with guest speaker Theresa Kingston who will be talking about arts, culture and heritage in the Alberni Valley. If you are a patron of the arts, an artist or would like to be involved with a wonderful community arts organization that can make a difference to our community, join us for the evening. We are always looking for new members and welcome everyone.
Book donations
It’s that time of year again and the Rollin Art Centre is currently accepting all your gently used books for their annual book sale in May.
We are very grateful for all your books but cannot take any textbooks, magazines, National Geographic, encyclopedias or Reader’s Digest. Our book sorters then in turn have to then take these items to the landfill.
Please drop off donations (newer books only) at the Rollin Art Centre inside the main door just under the staircase in the big wooden box.
As this is one of the Community Arts Council’s biggest fundraisers, we appreciate all your donations. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Located at 3061 Eighth Ave. or call 250-724-3412 for more info.
Help arts council
It’s important to know that when you take out a membership with the Community Arts Council, you are helping to guarantee our future and allowing us to continue on with our mandate to help advocacy for the arts, for arts organizations and those working in the arts.
Membership costs allow us to help promote local artists and art in the Valley. We are celebrating our 52nd year advocating for art in our community and would like to celebrate many more years, but we can only do that we the help of annual memberships and patrons of the arts.
The cost is only $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $22 for a family. As we are a non-profit organization we rely on the generous support of art patrons.
Please help support the Community Arts Council today so we can help support local artists tomorrow.
