The Abbotsford Arts Council presents its first Anonymous Art Show Fundraiser at the Kariton Art Gallery (2387 Ware St.) from June 27 to July 22.
The opening reception will be Saturday, June 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Anonymous Art Show Fundraiser showcases art that was submitted anonymously by community members of all ages, from first-time artists to established artists, to be featured and sold in a lightly juried exhibition in support of the arts.
Modelled on an event in North Vancouver by the North Vancouver Arts Council, the show raises funds to assist the Abbotsford Arts Council in funding programs, including free community events, exhibition space and arts initiatives.
Each piece in the show is on a 12” x 12” x 1.5” canvas and will be sold at $100. The artist receives half the proceeds, and the other half goes to the Abbotsford Arts Council.
The Abbotsford Arts Council will announce each participating artist on Twitter (@abbyartscouncil) as their work is sold.
Due to the popularity of the show, applications are still being accepted until July 13 and are available online at abbotsfordartscouncil.org or at the Kariton Art Gallery.
The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday from noon to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
