Fort Langley Artists Group’s third and final show of the 2014 summer season, Sunflower & Poppies, opens on Saturday, Aug. 2 and continues to Monday, Sept. 1.
The FLAGstop Gallery, located at the corner of Glover Road and Mavis Avenue in Fort Langley is open from noon to 4 p.m. each Saturday, Sunday and holiday Monday throughout the summer.

The Langley Writers’ Guild is on the move.
For the next several meetings — at least throughout the month of September — the local writers’ group will meet at Michaud House 5202 204 St. Meetings will be held at the usual time, from 10 a.m. to noon on the first, second and fourth Thursday of the month.
The move comes as the City prepares to begin construction on its new Timms Community Centre. Since a significant portion of the design for the new building involves converting space currently occupied by the City’s library, the writers guild will be unable to meet in the library as it has done for the past several years.
