Imagine being able to shop for high quality, locally-made arts and crafts seven days a week from now until Christmas Eve.
It isn’t just a dream, you really can.
The Vernon Community Arts Centre (VCAC) in Polson Park has been transformed into a month-long arts and crafts boutique with 29 talented and vibrant Okanagan artists and artisans offering their creative works for sale.
Artsolutely, as this market is called, has three separate but connected reasons to be: It is a major ACNO (Arts Council of the North Okanagan) fundraiser for the VCAC; it is a venue for the local artists community to sell their works, and last but definitely not least, it is a place for citizens of Vernon and the surrounding area to buy locally inspired and constructed works of art and functional artisan pieces.
Offerings this year include woodcarvings, both functional and decorative pottery, objets d’art in all mediums, jewelry, fabric arts, beadwork, stained glass, fused glass, fine arts, soaps, Christmas ornaments, lapidary work and much more.
Artsolutely is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays noon to 4 p.m. today though to Dec. 23. On Christmas Eve, hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
