AURA Chamber Choir is pleased to celebrate the approaching festive season this week with a concert that explores what must be one of the most singable of words in any language, “alleluia.”
Four alleluias, the well-known Alleluia of Randall Thompson, the exultant Hallelujah chorus from Beethoven’s Mount of Olives oratorio, Alleluia, Amen by AURA’s director Imant Raminsh, and Alleluia by Okanagan composer Sandra Wilmot, will frame a collection of seasonal compositions and European, Canadian and American carols.
AURA Chamber Choir sings Alleluia! Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. at All Saints Anglican Church, 3205 27th St., Vernon.
Tickets are $18 (students are free) and are available from choir members, at the Bean Scene Coffee House, and at the door.
