Blind Bay resident Gillian Richardson, has published 17 books for children that include nonfiction, novels and picture books.
She combines a passion for nature and science with a love of writing for young readers from 7-14. She has written numerous short stories and articles for children’s magazines.
Her work has been listed in the Canadian Children’s Book Centre’s Best Books for Children and Teens.
Her recent nonfiction book, Kaboom! Explosions of All Kinds, won the American Institute of Physics 2010 Science Writing Award for children.
She is an instructor for The Institute of Children’s Literature, which offers correspondence courses in writing for children, and writes reviews of children’s books.
Richardson will be signing copies of her books at Bookingham Palace from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 20.
