It’ll be a night of serious rock ‘n’ roll when Saskatoon natives One Bad Son play the western leg of their Canadian tour, which wraps up at The Max nightclub in Vernon Saturday.
Known as one of Canada’s hardest working rock bands, One Bad Son is playing two back-to-back tours across the nation. This, band members say, actively encompasses their nose-to-the-grindstone approach to life on the road, an attitude they have showcased since their formation in Saskatoon more than 10 years ago.
“This is likely the biggest tour of our career and we couldn’t be more excited or ready for it,” said drummer Kurt Dahl. “We get to headline a second tour from coast to coast, playing our new music. Not ‘til I say that out loud do I realize how amazing that truly is.”
One Bad Son recently released their fourth full-length album Black Buffalo on 604 Records. It features their current single Vinyl Spin Burner and Satellite Hotel, which hit the Top 5 on the Active Rock chart (Mediabase) and was the number one most added track for two weeks following its debut.
Black Buffalo follows the success of the band’s 2012 self-titled album, which captured the attention of Canadian rock radio stations, with the hit single Scarecrows reaching the Top 5 and Retribution Blues, which found a home at No. 6 on the Active Rock chart (Mediabase).
One Bad Son have made a name for themselves performing alongside talent including Three Days Grace, Monster Truck, Theory of A Deadman, Default, Buckcherry and Crash Karma.
In 2013, they were crowned the victors of SiriusXM’s Rock The Grey Cup, where they represented the Saskatchewan Roughriders, performing during the festivities at the 101st Grey Cup.
On the heels of announcing their Canadian debut album, Australian rockers The Lazys have been eagerly plying for Canadian crowds since arriving in October. They kicked off their visit performing alongside Big Wreck in Toronto and with The Trews in Montreal.
Their self-titled release, which came out Oct. 21, includes current single Shake It Like You Mean It, as well as additional collaborations with producer Garth Richardson (Rage Against The Machine, Nickelback, Motley Crue).

Update: Australian band The Lazys are no longer opening for One Bad Son at The Max as they had a tight deadline to return to Australia for additional shows.
