In 1985 McCoy quit his job and hit the road playing music.

He has never looked back.

To date, he has written hundreds of songs and recorded and released numerous singles to radio that hit the charts in several countries including Canada, Europe and Australia. McCoy has written, produced and released 3 full-length projects.

In 2004 McCoy released Prayin’ for Rain donating 100 per cent of the sales of the CD single and airplay royalties to the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund.

LET R’ BUCK

Robert Rowan and Savage West band are on stage in the Let R’ Buck Saloon behind the Stampede Grandstand tonight and Saturday night starting at 9 p.m. each evening.

Ken McCoy will be joining Savage West tonight.

Tickets for the barn dance and performances tonight and Saturday night in the Let R’ Buck Saloon are available in the Stampede office behind the grandstand.

COMMUNITY

MEALS

There will be all kinds of ways to catch a community meal on the run during Stampede.

Community breakfasts will be served up in the Save-On Foods parking lot from 7 a.m. to about 11:30 a.m. today through Sunday by the Knights of Columbus.

The Rotary Club of Williams Lake will also be serving breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. today through Sunday in the parking lot behind Lake City Ford on Oliver Street.

And you can also catch breakfast with the cowboys at the infield in the Stampede Grounds infield concession starting at 7 a.m.

The Rotary Club community steakout dinners happen tonight and tomorrow night in the parking lot behind Lake City Ford from about 4:30 to 8 p.m.

The Stampede concession is also holding barbecues and concession tonight and tomorrow night from 4 to 7 p.m.

And of course there is always food available in the concession behind the grandstand during the rodeo action — tonight from 6 to about 9 p.m.; Saturday from 1 to about 9 p.m.; and Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m. Remember, Sunday is also family day where kids under 12 get in free to the rodeo.

Wear pink Sunday in support of the fight against cancer. One dollar from each ticket sold goes to the fight against cancer.
