The Bates Beach Music Series wraps up its third season Saturday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m.
The public is invited to enjoy an awesome evening of big band music featuring the 19-piece Georgia Strait Big Band.
The performance will include some brand new contemporary repertoire, along with your favourite big band standards by The Count, Gillespie and Ellington.
The Georgia Strait Big Band is expertly conducted by Greg Bush, professor of jazz studies at Vancouver Island University.
Complementing the band will be the elegant vocals of Jacki Zbirun, who will take you down memory lane with lovely renditions of classic favourites of the big band era.
There will be a designated dance area to kick up your heels.
Net profit from the concession is matched by the generous support of Sunwest RV, with this year’s proceeds being directed to the Comox Valley Child Development Association.
Many thanks
