Freida Pinto, the beauty from the hit film Slumdog Millionaire, captivates the screen in Trishna, Beach Flicks next screening Friday March 9 in Qualicum Beach.
Trishna is Michael Winterbottoms adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s Tess of the d’Ubervilles.
Filmed in India, it is beautifully shot with stunning music and rich performances that stir emotions with many thought provoking scenes. Trishna lives with her family in a village in Rajasthan, India’s largest state. As the eldest daughter, she is forced to be the family’s main wage earner after her father is injured in an accident. The audience is taken on a journey of curiosity, romance and tragedy as past, future, class and culture collide.
