Beach House Theatre, a non-profit theatre company, under the artistic direction of Candace Radcliffe and Rick Harmon is casting for Larry Shue’s The Foreigner.
Auditions will be held on Sunday, April 3 between 4 and 8 p.m. Callbacks will be Sunday, May 1 at 4 p.m.
Charlie Baker is no ordinary foreigner. Everyone around him in a remote fishing lodge in rural Georgia mistakes him for a stranger from another land who can’t understand them, but Charlie does speak English. This leads to secrets being revealed and evil plots being thwarted.
The Foreigner, which premiered in New York City in 1984, has charmed audiences for over three decades with its simple tale of hope, redemption, kindness and the joy of discovering who you are.
The Foreigner requires a cast of five male and two female non equity actors aged 19 or older.
Actors must prepare a one to two minute comic monologue from a contemporary play. British or southern U.S. accents required for the males, southern U.S. accent required for females.
Auditions will be held in the dining hall at Alexandra Neighbourhood House 2916 McBride Ave. in Surrey.
Rehearsals will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30-10:30 p.m. from mid June till August. The production runs August 9-14 under a tent in beautiful Crescent Beach.
