A distinguished group of soloists are joining hands to perform a benefit concert for the Cowichan Valley Symphony Society on Sunday, May 29 at Duncan United Church.
Tenor Ted Rhodes, bass baritone Gary Relyea, soprano Monica Orso, mezzo soprano Anne Relyea and pianists Csinszka Redai and Stephen Shields are presenting a show they call Spring into Summer that features an afternoon of selections from opera, lieder and art songs and folk songs.
From Tschaikovksy, Verdi, Mozart, Brahms, and Mozart to Jerome Kern and Leonard Bernstein, all your favourite classical music composers are there.
There’s no doubt, either, that love will be in the air with songs ranging from ‘It Was a Lover and His Lass’ and ‘La Ci Darem la Mano’ to ‘The Foggy, Foggy Dew’.
