Benefit concert supports typhoon victims

NANAIMO – Filipino benefit concert to be held in Nanaimo on Thursday (Feb. 6).

A group of concerned Nanaimoites have come together in an effort to raise money for the victims of typhoon Haiyan that crippled the Philippines last November.

A wide range of singers, dancers, poets and musicians will showcase their talents tonight (Feb. 6) at a fundraising concert at St. Paul’s Anglican Church.

Admission to the event is a suggested donation of $5, however higher dominations are encouraged. Funds raised will go towards the Canadian Red Cross and tax receipts will be available.
