Bite into Kelowna Art Gallery fundraiser

Proceeds from ticket sales and auction go to children's programming at the Kelowna gallery.

The concept behind Appetite for Art is to combine a celebration of the best in local cuisine with stunning works of art that guests can bid on and take home.

The Kelowna Art Gallery’s Appetite for Art Fundraiser & Art Auction is on Saturday, March 23  from 7 to 10 p.m. Chris Walker, host of Daybreak South on CBC Radio One, will be the emcee for the evening.

Appetite for Art brings together culinary offerings from five of the region’s finest chefs. Award-winning chef and sommelier, Mark Filatow, from Waterfront Wines, chef and owner, Rod Butters, from RauDZ Regional Table, and chef and partner, Cameron Smith, from Joy Road Catering, are just a few of the extraordinary talents behind the evening’s food. Five drinks carefully selected by local premier producers of wines, beer, and spirits, including Tree Brewing Company, Mission Hill Estate Winery, Quail’s Gate Winery, and Okanagan Spirits, will be paired with the chefs’ creations.

Upon arrival, guests will be welcomed with a red-carpeted entrance and a glass of sparkling wine. Performing artists The Darylectones will provide music for the night. Works by nearly forty artists will be displayed throughout the gallery space, encouraging guests to mingle and bid on their favourite works of art, all the while enjoying a sumptuous, roving feast. The evening culminates in a live auction of selected works of art and highly valued non-art items such as getaways, tickets to premier events, and dining packages.

Appetite for Art is the Gallery’s most significant fundraising event of the year. The proceeds from it support ongoing educational and children’s programming at the Kelowna Art Gallery.

Tickets for the Appetite for Art Fundraiser and Art Auction are $100 per person for Kelowna Art Gallery members, and $120 for non-members. They can be purchased directly from the Gallery, online at www.kelownaartgallery.com, or by calling 250-762-2226.
