Blues meets Celto-Canadian folk

Blues man Jim Byrnes shares the stage with The Pat Chessell Band on Nov. 4 at the Surrey Arts Centre.

Ready for a mix of soulful blues and Celto-Canadian folk music?

Surrey Civic Theatres presents An Evening with Jim Byrnes and special guest The Pat Chessell Band on Nov. 4 at 8 at the Surrey Arts Centre, 13750 88 Ave.

Byrnes, who was born in “blues country” – St. Louis, Missouri – is one of Vancouver’s most popular musicians, as well as one of Canada’s best-known actors (noted for his starring roles in the series Highlander, Wise Guy, and his own variety show The Jim Byrnes Show).

Byrnes will be accompanied on stage by collaborator Lindsay Mitchell.

Vancouver-based Chessell has made a name for himself as one of the most exciting live acts on the Vancouver music scene with passionate, smoky vocals complemented by Celtic-fuelled sounds that stretch into influences of roots, folk, and country.

Tickets are $25-$40, including all fees, at the box office, by phone at 604-501-5566 or online at tickets.surrey.ca
