The award winning  vocal group VOCO  will present a concert at the Campbell River United Church on  Thursday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m.

VOCO is sweet, hard-driving Americana mixed with crooked eastern European dance music. It’s all rounded out with body-stompin’ percussive movement and joyous, magnificent, hair-raising harmonies.

Moira Smiley, singer-composer, leads this  powerhouse vocal-band, and travels the world performing traditional music, as well as creating new work for dance, theatre and film. This quartet of  extraordinary musicians  share a passion for spreading powerful, emotional music with lush four-part vocal harmony, cello, accordion, banjo  and body percussion.

Voted No. 1 vocal group in America in 2007, VOCO has toured across Europe and United States and have been  called “a truly phenomenal act” by Folkworks Magazine, “fascinating and multilingual” by the LA Times. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear this amazing group. Tickets are $15 and available at the  Music Plant (cash or cheques only please)  or at the door on the night of the performance.
