Brant Wildlife Festival Kids Nature Photo Contest

Entries accepted March 1-27 from all children aged 6-18 in School District No. 69

Local youth have the chance to show off their photography skills in the inaugural Brant Wildlife Festival Kids Nature Photo Contest.

In keeping with the wildlife theme, contestants are invited to submit their best photo of a plant, animal or landscape found in the community or in a natural area. Note that photos cannot be digitally altered in any way and that images of domestic pets or farm animals are not eligible.

Sponsored by the Brant Wildlife Festival and the Parksville Qualicum Beach News, the contest is open to children aged 6-18 who live in School District 69 (Qualicum). There are three divisions: ages 6-9, 10-14 and 15-18.

Contestants can enter the Brant Wildlife Festival Kids Nature Photo Contest through an online platform hosted at pqbnews.com/contests. Here, they can upload their photo and fill out a registration form in which they must also disclose the name and address of an adult representative.

Each participant can submit only one photograph, which must be in JPEG format.

All photos must be submitted by March 27.

The submissions will then be turned over to the Oceanside Photographers, the Arrowsmith Naturalists and Robin Rivers of The Nature Trust of BC for judging between March 30 and April 10.

Winners will be announced on April 10. Each first prize winner will receive a $50 gift card from Pharmasave. The second and third prize winners will each receive a pass for two to Milner Gardens.

Full contest details are available on the online contest platform (pqbnews.com/contests). If you have any technical difficulties on the site, please contact Peter McCully at publisher@pqbnews.com. For more information on the contest, contact Robin Rivers at rrivers@naturetrust.bc.ca.
